About Us
Young Bahamian Marine Scientists (YBMS) aims to engage Bahamian youth in environmental stewardship by promoting an understanding of the marine sciences through scientific and artistic activities. Our goal is that all Bahamians involved in our projects will be inspired to become active citizens concerned about environmental sustainability.
Young Bahamian Marine Scientists is an educational component of The Danguillecourt Project. The Danguillecourt Project (TDP) is a Bahamian non- profit environmental operated in collaboration with the University of Miami, which is dedicated to promoting awareness, appreciation, and stewardship of the unique Bahamian environment through education, research and art. TDP is committed to inspiring individuals from all walks of life to treasure the natural heritage of the Bahamas and to preserve it for future generations.
Young Bahamian Marine Scientists strives to provide educational programs at a minimal cost to each student so that everyone, regardless of ethnicity or class, can participate. We strive to ensure that all students having participated in any of our projects will be inspired to become the strong leaders that will shape the future of the Bahamas.
